Childrens Photography Session for Cady

We absolutely love childrens photography and this child portrait session for 8 year old Cady is no exception. It was such a lot of fun to do and Cady had a ball playing princess, getting dressed up and generally being the centre of attention. We had just received our order of girls dresses and Cady was perfect to try out several of them during this session for us. Our child size violin made a wonderful prop and coincidentally, Cady is starting to learn the violin, so that worked out.

Cody’s mum was over the moon with the images and will have stunning photographs to remember her little girl by and show to Cady’s children far in the future.

We have dresses, props and accessories her for girls aged 5 – 10 so you do not have to spend a fortune on dresses if you don’t have any. Just check with me on sizing first. Child portrait session for 8yr old Georgie

Georgie’s mum bought her into us for a model folio and child portrait photography session and we fell in love with her look and her infectious personality. Georgie was so incredibly easy to photograph and she loved being in front of the camera. She was patient and followed instruction to the letter. We could not have been happier with the results and we are sure that if given the opportunity any modelling work that she will do amazingly.

We have only been offering child portrait sessions for a short time and already both Dean and I thoroughly enjoy photographing them and we absolutely love the results. We have been lucky enough to photograph some amazing children so far. We have some sweet dresses available so let me know your daughters size to see if we have something special to fit. We also offer child portrait sessions for boys.

Your children will grow so quickly and this wonderful time in their life will pass you buy before you know it. We would love to give you stunning portraits of your child that you will be proud to hang on your wall and enjoy for decades to come.

Glamour photography session for Nisha

Model folio session for 14yr old Kundai.

14yr old Kundai came to us this week for photographs for her first model folio. Kundai’s family are originally from Zimbabwe and her heritage has most definitely given her an amazing look. Kundai looks amazing and she did a great job in the session.

We have photographed a lot of young girls for their first model folio and we always ensure that images are kept age appropriate and that the girls are comfortable and feel safe at all times. Parents are welcome to be in the session or they can choose to wait in our air conditioned lounge area.

Portrait photography session for Jade

Jade’s father purchased her a portrait photography session as a Christmas Gift and this week Jade came in and we had a fantastic session with her. She wanted some tasteful portraits that she could show the family plus a few special images just for her. Jade had been wanting to do a portrait photography session for quite a while but had not had the courage to go ahead until her dad purchased her session. We had a lot of fun photographing her and we achieved some awesome results for her which she loves.

Jade will be receiving one of our beautiful 10 image folio boxes with her finished images printed as 8 x 12″ prints and mounted onto 11 x 14″ mounts ready to frame, or they can be kept in the sturdy black folio box.

We are well known for our beautiful couples photography work with couples coming to us from all over Queensland and Australia. Many couples will plan a session with us while they are holidaying on the Gold Coast or Brisbane and, we photograph couples of all ages and sizes.

Your couples photography session can be fun, romantic, intimate, or some of each. It is completely up to your comfort level and what you wish to achieve. We photograph in both natural light and with flash so we can cover both the light style and the dark, dramatic style of image for you. Many couples will have a little of each in their session for a wonderful variety of images. We will pose and style you to suit your body types so that we achieve the very best image for each of you. We will also be sure to capture some special images of each of you separately.

Your couples session will begin with a relaxing makeover for her which will take around an hour. The photography session will take 1 – 2 hours depending upon the package you wish to purchase. We will then view your images right after your session so that you can choose the best images from the session for editing and processing. Your images will be edited over the next week and sent to you by email as an online download link. You have the option to purchase prints, wall art and coffee table books as an optional extra.

Portrait Photography – A little bit of history

Portrait photography or portraiture is photography of a person or group of people that displays the expression, personality, and mood of the subject. Like other types of portraiture, the focus of the photograph is usually the person’s face, although the entire body and the background or context may be included.

The relatively low cost of the daguerreotype in the middle of the 19th century and the reduced sitting time for the subject, though still much longer than now, led to a general rise in the popularity of portrait photography over painted portraiture. The style of these early works reflected the technical challenges associated with long exposure times and the painterly aesthetic of the time. Subjects were generally seated against plain backgrounds and lit with the soft light of an overhead window and whatever else could be reflected with mirrors. Advances in photographic equipment and techniques developed, and gave photographers the ability to capture images with shorter exposure times and the making of portraits outside the studio.

Couples photography session with Alex & Nigel

Alex & Nigel came to us for a romantic couples photography session. They wanted a mix of studio and outdoor images which we can easily do as we have a lovely garden area and sand pit for that ‘outdoor’ look. Because we can do both studio and outdoor images at our studio it means that your couples photography session will be faster and easier for you (no traipsing around with changes of clothes or equipment).

Your couples photography session can be sexy, fun, romantic or erotic. It is completely up to your comfort level and what you wish to achieve. Portrait photography for Samantha.

Samantha is a personal development, business and wellness coach and wanted a folio of portrait images to use for business purposes. She wanted a fashion edge to her images rather than the usual happy smily portraits that most of the people in her industry use. She wanted to stand out.

This was a fun session as Sam was very easy to photograph as well as being a very confident and positive person. We love the portraits that we managed to capture for her and thank her for giving us permission to use them here.

Many ladies think that they must be naked or in lingerie to shoot with us. That is very far from the truth as you can see by this session with Sam. Her outfits were very simple but very elegant and effective.

During your session you are welcome to combine several styles of photography according to your personal comfort level, including glamour, boudoir, portraiture, vintage and artistic nude. You are also welcome to bring your husband/partner in for a few romantic images together if you wish. Your session includes wonderful relaxing makeover (hair and makeup) so consider planning a night out that evening to take advantage of your fantastic look.

Vintage photography session for Hilary

This was a Vintage photography session for Hilary who loves her bustle skirts, corsets and little hats. Blend the fashion of the 1800’s in with a touch of Steam Punk and you have Hilary. We loved being a part of this session with her, it was so much fun.

Hilary’s good friend Bobbie, made her 2 fantastic skirts and came along for both moral support, and to help strap her into the corsets. We loved catching up with Bobbie again as we had photographed her and her partner a few years ago for a couples session. So, when Hilary told her she wanted to do a photography session in her beautiful outfits, Bobbie said the only place to go was to us, which is what we love to hear. Feven’s friend Josh, purchased her a glamour portrait photography session with us as a gift, and today we had the pleasure of meeting them both and photographing Feven.

Feven is originally from Africa but she has lived most of her life in Australia, and it was a real treat for us to be able to photograph her and chat with the couple throughout the session. She bought in some great jewellery and fabrics as she wanted to show her African heritage along with a few glamour images.
